In the midst of winter, it's always lovely to welcome new life onto the farm and be immersed in the sights and sounds of lambing time: 

the bleats and calls of lambs and ewes, the rustling of straw and hay and ewes nibbling on winter turnip feed. 

 

Our Beltex flock lamb early in the lambing season and will be tucked up indoors in the lambing shed until spring weather arrives. 

 

As we were preparing for the ewes to lamb, our Beltex hogg wool arrived back to the farm as a wonderful springy 4-ply yarn. 

 

Beltex wool is rarely used but great for knitwear and we're excited to celebrate Beltex sheep in a new way!
